Lymphocyte count is one of the lymphocyte phenotypes that are related or potentially related to the individual anti-virus capacity in pigs and other mammals. The aim of this work is to compare the transcriptome of the poly I:C-induced peripheral blood cells between pigs with extreme values of total lymphocyte count. The pigs with the two-tailed critical value of lymphopenia post 4h with poly I:C stimulation from a Duroc-Erhualian F2 population.

View SamplesNeutrophils play a key role in the innate immunity and the first line of defense against invading pathogens. The aim of this work is to investigate the neutrophil responses and transcriptomic alteration in the porcine peripheral blood by employing Poly I:C to emulate viral infection. The pigs with the two-tailed critical value of neutrophilia post 4h with poly I:C stimulation from a Duroc-Erhualian F2 population.

View SamplesSkeletal muscle is heterogeneous in nature and distinguished as red muscle and white muscle because of their myofiber composition. Soleus (SOL) is a typical red muscle and extensor digitorum longus (EDL) is a typical white muscle. In this study, we compared the transcriptome difference of soleus and extensor digitorum longus from three 10-week-old Yorkshire boars with porcine Affymetrix microarray.

View SamplesUrechis unicinctus, a benthic marine worm inhabiting widely in the coast of Russia, Japan, Korean Peninsula and China, present special biological characteristics in morphology, reproductive and developmental biology as well as physiology. It could exist in condition of low oxygen, high sulfide and pollution where most animals could not live. However, the molecular mechanisms of resistance are still unknown and the main obstacle to further study is the limited genomic and genetic information. In order to improve the situation, we performed and acquired its transcriptome database.

View SamplesPorcine alveolar macrophages (PAMs) play an important role in innate immunity. Streptococcus suis serotype 2 is a pathogen responsible for several diseases in both pigs and humans. We used microarrays to study the transcriptome of PAMs infected with SS2.
